In 1991 Hilton Schindler was appointed an attorney of the High Court of South Africa, (equivalent to a solicitor in the U.K.) and from 1991 until 2002, he held the position of senior partner in a mid-size law firm in Johannesburg. During this time (May 1997 to April 2002) he also held a position as a Commissioner of the Small Claims Court in South Africa. His legal experience encompasses the provision of legal advice, consultation with clients and advocates (barristers), preparation of documents, and appearing as counsel and attending with counsel in court. Many of Mr. Schindler’s cases have been reported in the South African Law Reports and some are leading cases in particular areas of South African law. Since 2002 Mr. Schindler has been a director of companies in the Schindlers Group. His specialties include international taxation, establishment of international trust and company structures, exchange control matters for both South African and foreign clients and South African property matters.
